Do you love to get lost in the story of a good book? I do, gets rid of the stress of the day. Reading a book is like watching a movie in your head. Who doesn’t love watching movies?
My first love is traditional regencies. Yes, we regularly watch all of the BBC’s versions of Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Emma and Mansfield Park. Elizabeth Gaskell’s North and South, Cranford and Wives’ and Daughters as well as George Eliot’s Middlemarch are also favorites. Check out my Reading Room. It’s populated with my recommendations of silly adventures, some serious action adventure, cozy mysteries and, of course, my favorite — traditional regencies. I included some good YA because lately I’ve been reading those with my kids and actually enjoyed them. Go figure?
There is great anticipation in our house for my own debut novel coming soon. Storm Chasers of Wentworth Hall. If you would like some teasers on that, I have started a Pinterest board. Check out who I have chosen to be the leading man.
I also enjoy Science Fiction, Steampunk and Fantasy. There is even one regency book that incorporated Science Fiction and I loved it, A Gift From the Stars, by Linda Banche. Find it in my Reading Room.
And, before you decide to leave, have some fun and take a look at An Adventure in Guernsey. Let me know what you think happens next. Maybe I’ll incorporate it into the chapter.
